“The showers had poor ventilation. Mildew and mold was so strong I was not able to shower there. I coughed uncontrollably when I entering. I took pictures for my insurance. I had parking across the street. Staff was helpful. There was one that was screaming and drinking alcohol. Other staff redirected her. She did curse often. I moved out after one day. The beds were cozy but if you have mold allergy it is impossible to stay there. Not enough ventilation in that area.”

“We liked the room and liked the location - just steps to the Farmer's Market. This is more of a note to Expedia than to the Hilo Downtown Inn. This is the second place we have rented through Expedia that didn't tell us we'd need to negotiate stairs. My wife has trouble navigating stairs. I think the property and Expedia have an ethical and perhaps legal obligation to inform potential renters about the stairs.”
